Queen Elizabeth Court

There are a total of 18 Masonic Care Homes in England and Wales providing care for Freemasons and their families. It all began in 1842 and is now administered by the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution. It provides Residential Care, Nursing Care, residential dementia support and limited sheltered accommodation. Presently it administers for over 1000 people. The nearest Care Home to Shropshire is Queen Elizabeth Court, Llandudno, North Wales. It enjoys an idyllic site in 5 acres of grounds and very close the sea and can cater up to 67 people at the present time. Over the years there has been a tradition to hold an annual fundraising Garden Fete in the grounds. This has in the main been organised by The Province of North Wales. However, as a legacy of Shropshire at one time being part of that Province, tradition has it that Shropshire have been invited to organise the event supported by North Wales. This has by tradition taken place approximately every 8 years. The last three occasions Shropshire have done this is in 1998, 2006 and 2013.
The last occasion was held on Saturday,June 1st 2013 which was a very warm and sunny day. Care Caradoc Lodge and Longmynd Lodge decided to work together and had a joint stall at the Fete as well as fundraising events. It was very well supported and as a result Care Caradoc Lodge contributed in excess of £1000 out of a total of £58,000 raised.
